Email addresses

While your old @ucs.fsu.edu (and @acns.fsu.edu) email addresses will continue to work for some time, your FSUID@fsu.edu is your official FSU email address. And you will use your FSUID username and password for both sending and checking mail with JES.

Instructions for setting up your email client to check a JES email account.

Thunderbird 1.5
Outlook Express 6
Outlook 2003
Eudora 7

How to make sure ALL your FSU email gets to JES.

a) Forward your mailer, garnet, and/or admin accounts to username@ucs.fsu.edu.
b) Forward your YourFSUID@fsu.edu to your username@ucs.fsu.edu.
c) Send email out as YourFSUID@fsu.edu and tell your contacts to email you at YourFSUID@fsu.edu.

To change your forwarding, go to the FSUID website.

Mail to yourFSUID@fsu.edu

If you are not receiving email sent to yourFSUID@fsu.edu, then yourFSUID@fsu.edu is probably forwarded somewhere other than JES. You should forward it to your username@ucs.fsu.edu.

If you are not receiving replies to emails sent using JES Webmail, then this is your issue. JES Webmail uses yourFSUID@fsu.edu as your reply to address.

To change your forwarding, go to the FSUID website.

Forwarding your JES account

To forward your JES account, you do not use the FSUID website. Instead it must be done through JES Webmail. Once you are logged in, click on Options, click on the Mail tab, and then on the Settings tab. Then under Mail Forwarding check the box to Enable forwarding, type in the email address you would like to forward to and click Save at the bottom. You can also choose whether or not to leave a copy of the forwarded message on your JES account or not. Also, you have the ability to forward to multiple addresses now.

Setting a Vacation Message in JES

You can set a vacation message in JES Webmail. Once you are logged in, click on Options, click on the Mail tab, and then on the Vacation Message tab.

Mail filters

You can set up mail filters within your email client and those will work only on that email client on that computer. However, if you set up mail filters in JES Webmail (http://webmail2.fsu.edu) then they will work in webmail and any other clients you check mail with on any computer.
