On Campus computers use:
Primary = 128.186.8.8
Secondary = 128.186.6.103

Off-Campus computers (including dialup machines and offices located in Innovation Park), use:
Primary = 128.186.6.103
Secondary = 128.186.8.8

Domain Name fsu.edu

IP Address
Internet Protocol. The identity of a machine on a network.

Each machine has a unique IP address. If you do not know your IP number you should ask your local network administrator what it is. Or you can send eMail to hostmaster(at)UCS.fsu.edu . Never never enter in a bogus IP.

Router Address

Your Router address is associated with your IP address. If you do not know your Router number you should ask your local network administrator what it is. Or you can send eMail to hostmaster(a)UCS.fsu.edu .
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

POP (or IMAP) Account
Post Office Protocol. This is the protocol that handles eMail.
(Incoming eMail)

At FSU, your POP or IMAP account is the same as the machine which hosts your eMail account. Thus, if you receive your eMail on Garnet, your POP account will be garnet.acns.fsu.edu .
SMTP Account
(Outgoing eMail)
At FSU, your SMTP account is normally the same as your POP account. I.e., if you receive your eMail on Garnet, your POP account will be garnet.acns.fsu.edu . If you are away from FSU and want to forward your eMail to your home ISP you may have to change the SMTP entry in your configuration. See How to Forward your eMail for more info.
