Get Connected

Check this section for information about on-campus access through UCS's public labs, and Residence Hall connections. Also available: how to check eMail on your new FSU account.

To get started with computing at FSU, you need to connect to FSU's high-speed computing network. The university network connects you to campus resources and the Internet. You can connect to the university network from your dorm (via Ethernet), from a wireless device, or from off campus (remote access) through an ISP.

Now that you have an FSU computer account, and you are secure, lets get busy!

Wireless Access - FSUWIN

FSUWIN is the Wireless Integrated Network solution at Florida State University. This link provides OTC information about wireless on campus and a wireless map. Remember unauthorized wireless routers are not allowed on FSU campus, even in Residence Halls.

Email

Trying to figure out how to check your FSU eMail? Maybe you need instructions on how to forward your eMail to a non-FSU account? For more take a look at the eMail section of the FSU Helpdesk.

Campus Access - Labs

FREE Internet access available in FSU computer labs. PC and Macintosh computers are currently available in 3 UCS public computer labs, located around campus. Our facilities house IBM-compatible PCs and Macs, as well as printers, scanners, and a wide variety of software.

Get Busy

With this list of other fun stuff to do!

Okay... you've got the account, you're connected and, with a little bit of help, you're ready to go. So what are you going to do NOW?

The first thing you want to do is to check out your information on your FSUID account. Log into campus.fsu.edu and look around. While there, register your cell phone for the university emergency text messaging system, and update your disaster contact information.

Then, take a look at FSU's Academic Resources page. You'll find information about FSU's Distance Learning resources, onLine Library offerings and other wired and wireless resources at Florida State.
