Get Started
Starting a new semester can be stressful. But getting your new FSU computer account isn't.
To get started with computing at FSU, you need to connect to FSU's
high-speed computing network. The university network connects you to
campus resources and the Internet. You can connect to the university
network from your dorm (via Ethernet), from a wireless device, or from
off campus (remote access) through an ISP.
Once you receive your FSUCard
number, you'll be in our database and eligible to register for your
free account.
Register for your new FSU account through the Account
Registration (FSUID) system. The OTI
Guide to Computing @ Florida State will also help get you pointed
in the right direction.
Account Registration
Here's where you activate your account via an easy web-based form. Then log in for any maintenance. While you're there you might want to take a look around.
Account Maintenance
- To set up vacation notification on your FSU email, go to the helpdesk. All other maintenance can be done at FSUID.
- While you are in there, you can assign a personal email address to
send your FSU mail in case of an emergency/disaster.
Guide to Computing
This is the online version of a booklet most students receive at orientation. It's a good overview of the whole getting started process as well as policies on computing at FSU and wireless use on campus.
FSU Computing Help Desk
This is where you go if you need online information, or just a person
to help you get started.
