Student Email Forwarding for Life

The University currently provides email forwarding for @fsu.edu email aliases for life.

OTI allows FSU email accounts to remain active for a grace period of at least 120 days after student graduation and/or employee termination to ease transition to a new Internet service provider. The account will expire after this time unless the student re-enrolls in classes or becomes an employee of FSU.

While a student's garnet account will expire, FSU will allow students to use the '@fsu.edu' alias for life, provided they set up forwarding when they receive notification that the garnet account is to be deleted.

If forwarding is not set up, emails sent to the alias email address will get bounced and a message will returned to the sender.

At that time, email forwarded can no longer be checked through the FSU account, only forwarded @fsu.edu mail can be checked at the email address where the mail has been forwarded.

Also see information for retiring faculty and staff.

Use of all Florida State University email accounts are subject to the Florida State University computer usage policy. Any violation of the Use of University Information Technology Resources policy by retired faculty or staff can result in the termination of services provided by Florida State. An electronic copy of that policy is provided at
http://www.vpfa.fsu.edu/policies/bmanual/itpolicy.html.
